Listeners' sensitivity to performance on record
The goal of this project was to examine the influence of unfamiliarity with performing and recording style on the perception of performance on historical records. A series of perceptual experiments were run to examine the effect of recording date and version on different aspects of the perception and evaluation of recorded performances such as the judgment of the quality of performances, the perception of clarity and variety of vocal sounds, and the judgment of emotions perceived in performances.
